True Value

Location

Cape May, NJ

Project Overview

The JLG Company transformed a vacant 35,000-sf Marshalls into a 16,000-sf True Value, leaving the rear demised space to become self-storage. Major demolition throughout, including former walls and bathrooms, as well as the removal of 32,000-sf of VCT. With our inhouse concrete grinding team, we removed the mastic and polished the concrete. After we built a new demising wall at 20' high and over 250' in length, we constructed two bathrooms with underground plumbing (saw cut and put back). Also, we performed a video inspection and found an underground interior connection which saved the owner from core drilling the foundation to connect to the exterior lateral. The HVAC system was updated and retrofitted for the new space. While saving over 13,000-sf of drop ceiling, we renovated it and made accommodations for new lighting. On the exterior, we repaired the façade with new EIFS, and painted the full length (including the adjacent Staples).
